Today we are going to disucss attitudes about immigration as an introduction to this section of US History class.
Please consider the following statements. Do you agree with any? Do you disagree with any? Which ones? Why?
1. There are too many immigrants coming to the United States.
2. The U.S. government should put more Immigration and Naturalization Service border patrol agents on the border with Mexico.
3. Illegal immigrants take away jobs from U.S. citizens.
4. U.S. immigration policy has been fair to all groups entering the U.S.
5. If a country is having economic problems, the U.S. should allow its residents to come here for a better life.
6. Immigration has helped the United States.
7. Having a variety of cultures and languages in America benefits everyone.
8. Most immigrants come to the U.S. just to get on welfare.
9. Everyone who comes to the U.S. should be required to learn English.
10. If a country is having political problems, the U.S. should allow persecuted citizens from this country to seek asylum here.

I feel that immigration is wrong, because many people want to live here in the US, but that right is being taken away from them... I don't agree with this at all.

i support imigration because the imigrants comen to the united states to have a better job were they earn more money and because they want a better education for there kids.

I don't think that immigration is a "problem". The people who are coming here are just trying to make a better life for their family. They don't necessarily want to leave their homes and everyone they care about, but they want them to be able to have a better life. The US should embrace the new culture that is being brought over.

i feel bad about immagration because it doesnt make sense. it deosnt make sense because its all land if there was no boreder Mexico would unite with U.S.A to fight the terrorist. people from Mexico also lost family members from 9/11 as well so why is there boreders for immagrants.
I do not suport imigrating to the u.s because i think were supos to stay where were at.

My opinion about immigration is that people come because they want new opportunities for them and specially their families. I do support it because I think that the U.S. helps immigrants in different ways as immigrants help them also. We both need of each other.
I think that this should be handling with care because there is racism. When someone says immigrant right away you think about Mexicans or Central America with light brown skin color. And I think that when you say immigrants that includes people from china or other countries as well. You should check where they come from, how long they have been here, the families’ statues, and also their record they have as an immigrant if they are criminals or anything that is immoral for the U.S.

I think immigration is just an issue that is not worth discussing because i dont know how people in the U.S. get affected by immigrants coming in. I support immigration because it allows the U.S. to be constructed from different races and different cultures.

I agree and disagree on immigration. i agree because i think everyone has an equal opportunity to live adream where ever they want........I disagree because you cant just come into others terretory.
ok well first of all i thin that immigration is well a good thing i guess. well its a good thing beacuse without imigrants most jobs wouldnt be done. so imigrants are big here in the united states. because if imigrants werent here most jobs wouldnt be done like farming,all the people that work in the fields nd ya so immigrants r a good thing lol. wat i feel about imigration is well i kind of dont care beacuse as long as they dont harm me or my family or my friends well then im cool with them ok well i had to leave to the grade leavle meeting peace out!!!\
I don't think Immagration is a bad thing, because the United States is a free country. I think that the united states should be more open with people coming in from other states, but honestly I really don't know much about immagration, so I don't really have any say. :]

yooo ms well i do not support immigration because i think the us can make imigration better by giving imigrants chances of bing here well by not deporting people that have familly here in the us... because there is some poeple that really need to be here because they really need the monye!!!!!!! :p
how I file about the immigration the is a good question. so I think what all the imigrants come to us. to get a veter life and education.
I really don’t have a problem with immigration what I do have a problem with How they make it a big deal. And also that they say that immigrants r taking all of the jobs. well that’s not true because immigrant are doing the jobs that most Americans don’t want do. And why do they always want to deport them but when it comes down to paying taxes they never care if your and immigrant or not.
i think that is ok that they have the immagrachon becacuse a lot of people come frome other places. but some times the people from immagrachon are not far because a lot of imagrints come 2 work n they treat them bad
i believe immagration in the us should be llegal with a contract. Since the us is the land of oppurtunity, i believe that everyone should have that oppurtunity. With that said, the contract the immagrants would have to abide by would be that the immagrant would have to at least work towards a high school degree while living in the us. This is so because this would help our society be more educated and somewhat united. This would bring us closer to unity by bringing in a common barrier- english. If an immagrant went to school and learned english, i believe there would be less conflict between citizens and immagrants.
Immagration to me does not bother

its kinda dumb in a way, because not just mexicans are immigrating, there are people from other countrys who are immigrating too and only mexicans are the ones who are getting sent back. if they are going to be against that then
they should be fair to everyone.
I think immigration is wrong in many way because people come to the united states to make a better life for themselves and for their kids. I do not go for immigration at all because if it was me and my family i would want them to tell us that we couldnt go somewhere because of are race.

I think immigrants should just try to be legal by taking a citizen ship test. If they pass they will be able to live in the U.S. with out the fear of getting deported.
My opinion about immigration is that the people that come to the U.S. to find opportunities and have a better life for their families. I do support the immigrants because noticing we need help from each other. I think every one should get along because there’s still people out there that are racist we need to change that.
